Shauyu Vilimpoc is a Minnesota State Licensed Acupuncturist and a Nationally Certified Diplomat in Oriental Medicine. She holds a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Born in China and raised in Taiwan, and fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Shauyu was exposed to Traditional Chinese Medicine at a very young age through her parents and the great practitioners with whom they were acquainted. Her health issues were always first addressed with an acupuncture session or herbal medicine.
As she grew older, her interest in Chinese Medicine also grew. She would ask questions each time she visited the practitioners and watched them preparing the raw herbs. This led to her belief that Traditional Chinese Medicine is a treasure that needs to be shared with the rest of the world.
“Being a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner is my calling and my passion. I know how important it is to have someone caring for and listening to your health concerns. When you come to my clinic, this is exactly you will receive.
Please allow yourself at least 90 minutes for the initial visit. I do not overlap my patient visits, you will receive my full and undivided attention.
I will use the time to understand your condition, carefully check your pulse and tongue (which is an important indicator of overall health), explain to you and perform the acupuncture procedure, and patiently answer your questions.
Healing is a process. It takes time and patience. I am here to help you, to offer my encouragement and support.”

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of healing developed and practiced in China for over three thousand years. TCM believes that our body is an organic entity in which various systems are interdependent. Health is the manifestation of harmony among the systems, whereas disease is any imbalance among the systems within the whole. Using this holistic view, TCM treats the whole person through rebalancing and addressing the root cause of illnesses thus restoring health.
Two major treatment paths within the scope of TCM practice are Acupuncture and Herbal Therapy. Some conditions can be treated with Acupuncture alone. Some conditions only need Herbal Therapy. Sometimes a combination of Acupuncture and Herbs are needed to achieve a more effective treatment and a better result.
